This is a cool hack that was that was done by the folks over at Icrontic.com
that involves simply replacing the ATA/33 IDE cable in your Xbox with
an uncut ATA/100 cable. An uncut cable is a cable without one of
wires cut. I am looking for a source now and I will post it here
when I find one. If you find a source for an uncut ATA/100 cable,
please let us know and we will give you credit..
Speed Increase? YES!
Icrontic.com - To
test the new cable we ripped a Pennywise CD to the HDD and monitored the
times with a stopwatch:
18 min 53 sec
16 min 35 min
desiboy - "there is an improvement... if you have DOA3..
when you get to the character select screen.. it takes a couple seconds
for the characters to load... with the ATA100 cable.. the characters load
in about half a second to a second.. its faster.. and its noticeable..
same goes with levels in halo.. do load a few seconds faster"
