Lets look at our schematic shall we ?

Wow that’s a mess. A Good idea would be to read the German tutorial
(with translation), he goes into more detail on what exactly is
going on, but I’ll try to explain it. Also you’ll notice I hacked
up his diagram to fit mine, Just wanted to thank that guy for his
hard work in putting the original tutorial together.
In a nutshell that little yellow wire connected to the old DVD-Rom,
serves as a few things:
a) Power for the drive
b) A extended eject button
c) Sensor(s) to know when the tray is open, and closed
d) Sensor to know when there is a disc in the drive
e) And the E pin I don’t know, maybe has something to do with the
original copy protection authentication
What we are going to attempt is to give that yellow wire the information
that it wants.
