3 Installation Tutorial (Rev 1.02)- Thanks To TeamXecuter.com
Fitting the 1.6 Rebuild
the ONLY things you have to leave out there is:
- the direct soldering of d0 (you still have to solder the lan and
hdd wires on yourself)
- the four rebuild wires (blue wires in the 1.6 pinheader tutorial)
take your time to complete all the steps untill you have to solder
the pinheader... as i see it, you have two options now...
- solder all the pins, except the ones that need to be soldered
on the rebuild pcb (as mentioned on http://www.teamxecuter.com/index.ph...pic&t=23461
- solder all the pins (i did it this way, you should have no problems
adding the rebuild pcb when everything is soldered, providing that
you don't use heaps of solder), i think this is the easiest, since
you have lots of space to solder the pins, and just have to heat
it for a single moment to connect it to the pcb later on
presuming that you just soldered all the pins, let's move on
take your rebuild pcb and put it over your pins. if you didnt add
solder to the pins like a maniac, you should experience no problems
with this.
okay. now...
solder the pins to the rebuild pcb... (6 solderpoints)
if you did a good job soldering your pins, this should be very easy
and quick. take a look at this:

normally, it should be possible to just put the soldering iron in
between for a second, and both parts of solder should flow together.
if needed, apply (a little amount of) solder
solder the rebuild pcb to the motherboard... (5 solderpoints; 4
for the rebuild, 1 for d0)
alright, i cant stress this enough people: dont leave your soldering
iron on your motherboard points for long periods of time (2-3 seconds
MAX). you will screw up if you dont follow this simple rule.
a picture says more then a thousand words...

put your soldering iron in a 45degree angle between the pcb and
the to-be-soldered point on the motherboard. once the solder on
the pcb starts melting, you should add a small amount of solder
to the solder on the pcb, and it will flow right onto the solderpoint
on your motherboard, and you're done
solder the d0 wire onto that small silver plate on the rebuild
pcb (1 solderpoint)
i dont think i should waste time on this...
okay, i think we're done now :)
please take your time reviewing all the solderpoints, making sure
you did them all. at the time of this install, i spent 3 hours cursing,
resoldering pins and mobo connections, to find out that i forgot
one stupid solderpoint :p (the red one in the top right corner)
the completed thing should look like this:
